 Faux Painters show their stuff while attending our Faux painting classes
Since the days of the cave man, art has been an obsession with human kind. Cave paintings are considered the first examples of faux finishing, and as time goes on, faux painting is changing with it. Thanks to modern technology, faux painting has received the greatest increase in industry manufacturing, product development, and more than ever, people are leaving the traditional J O B to try their hand at professional faux finishing. We also see a decline in the use of wallpaper, and an increase in the use of faux finishing products. In order to fulfill the industry demand for faux, we see a wave of faux painting schools and training facilities opening their doors to teach the masses the intricacies of faux painting techniques. Many schools exist only to sell the products they teach with, having been set up by product manufacturers to sell their wares. These schools offer limited resources to their students, and hinder their growth as faux painters. IF WALLS COULD TALK Decorative Arts Studio exists to offer faux painters a choice in materials and the attention to Olde World technique and historical application is top priority in every class we teach. Chemical and technical information is also covered extensively, as we provide our students with every trick of the trade, in order to ensure their success as faux painters. We teach only with the industry's leading products, including Adicolor, Perfetto, ProFaux and Briste Group products, as well as some traditional oil based products found at local hardware stores, in order to give our faux finishing students the edge they need to compete in the faux marketplace. Matt learns the sophistication of applied faux and decorative finishing. Before coming to class, Matt's experience with faux painting techniques was limited. After class, he excels at showing his portfolio and booking jobs. Way to go Matt!  This is the completed finish of the floor done during the Aug. 2003 Decorative Cement Staining and Etching class. Anita Yeh, of "Yeh For Art!" is a shining example of how our instruction helps the beginner as well as the polished decorative artist. She has a wealth of experience and still found our training to be top notch. Her skill and dedication to the craft was a pleasure to behold while she attended class. Students share their personalities...  Here is Deborah, a great finisher and student. She lives in a remote area of Colorado and does many residential as well as commercial jobs. Deborah knows the value of quality training and has trained under many of the industry's top instructors. We are so glad she attends our classes. At IF WALLS COULD TALK, students learn from an experienced instructor as well as each other. Here, Jerry and Terrie root each other on! Jerry, a well known Denver muralist, enjoys many faux finishing classes at IWCT. Terry is new to faux, and came to us to gain instructions for faux painting techniques. She left class with a gorgeous portfolio, and a notebook full of decorative painting techniques! Linn learns to be fauxtastic  "To me, this class is better than all the others I have had. It was so helpful to be able to use a variety of products, not just one line, and we learned how to match a sample I brought from home. I will be back!" Linn Tanabe, a former Faux Effects user, attends many classes at IWCT and has fun creating her own faux finishes for walls. She is also an expert Stenciler!  Lee has fun with faux!
"I have been in this industry for many years and I tell ya, I learned so much in this class! It was fun, informative and I made friends that will last a lifetime!" Lee is no newcomer to faux finish painting. She is a seasoned decorative artist who brings a wealth of knowledge to every class she attends. She is a master at creating decorative wall painting! Men and women alike learn the possibilities at IF WALLS COULD TALK. Here, Bryan and Donny show their plastering skills in the "European Textures Class." Donny, a certified plasterer, realizes the ease of use with faux painting techniques. His business has increased, and the boss is happy HAPPY! Dan Tafolla is a local interior and exterior painter. He has drastically increased his business since taking the Pro Walls One class. Valerie Hoeguer is an interior designer that attended a recent Pro Walls One class. She learned the importance of how to sell faux and decorative painting work, as well as the ability to create it productively and professionally. She recently finished a series of model homes where she did EVERYTHING from the furniture and accesories, to the walls! Her eye for color and attention to detail are exceptional!
