Get to Know the Faux Diva...
Jozette Martinez started her career much like many of her students; She was an experimenter. Always searching for a different look, and not afraid of color, Jozette was always playing with paint. She even painted an entire room with those little bottles of artist acrylics way back when. As Jozette was obtaining her first degree in English, she met and worked with a reputable artist in the Denver area. There, she began her formal training into the world of faux. "Before that experience, I didn't even know there was a name for the stuff I was doing!" she explains. As Jozette continued with her education, she held down several jobs and painted on her days off, and evenings. "It has always been something that centers me," she says of painting, "it is an inspiration in and of itself." In the begining, Jozette learned things the hard way. Coming from a background based in solvent paints, she learned the chemical properties of paint, stains, glazes and colorants. As her career expanded, the need to set up a pricing structure became important. "It took me a while to realize that I could do something that was difficult for others to do. I had to learn about how to get paid the right amount for the work I was doing." Finally, Jozette began her exploration into water based products and sought knowledge about how to run a faux finishing business. "It all sprouted from there," she says, "I was able to make enough money to work part time and finally quit (her J.O.B.) all together." Now Jozette shares her experiences with her students and prides her school on being the best resource to learn exceptional finishes as well as the specifics of running a faux and decorative painting business. Let her share her experience with you, while creating a fresh new portfolio that will win you the job over your competition! After waiting for many years, Jozette found the love of her life, Michael Griffin. They work together at iF Walls Could Talk, and students learn from their real-life job experience. Michael is the Executive Director and lead instructor of the Concreto Elegancia Concrete System and his knowledge in this system is unbeatable. Michael is a nurturing instructor with an easy to follow teaching style and he is committed to ensuring his students get a great experience from his classes. He's also quite a cutie! Jozette Martinez is the owner and creator of IF WALLS COULD TALK. She is a renowned instructor of faux finishing and also works in the field, creating beauty throughout Colorado and abroad. Jozette is sure to captivate your attention at her Faux and Decorative Art Studio, IF WALLS COULD TALK.EMAIL US BY CLICKING HERE | Return Home | Class Schedule | FREE Class! | Class Samples | Our Projects | Things To Know | Contact Us | Traveler's Info | Register Today! | Student Orders | |
